I think this was the first time I stayed in the bed all night - for as long as I can remember! Still didn't sleep all night, but I didn't get up, which I used to ALWAYS have to get up at least once during the night to pee. So that was pretty cool! I think I fell asleep close to 2am, and then woke up around 5:30am. I think I fell back asleep around 6:30am and then woke up around 9am. Overall - not bad! I was actually sore from walking so much yesterday. I hopped on the scale and saw that I had lost somewhere between 5-10 pounds since I went in for the cystectomy! I've been eating like a horse! I think I must have lost muscle weight or something, but it feels good to eat so much food right now and know it is really going to healing my body as it is working extra hard to heal! I was pretty tired this morning, so I laid around until I think after 11am, and then finally got up and took a luxurious shower with my shower chair!! So happy about that thing! I dried off, got dressed in another dress from my friend (they seem endless!), plugged in my curlers (the same hot rollers I've owned since 8th grade!), blew dry my hair, and then rolled my hair. Thank God for a chair in the bathroom! A little while later, my oldest son suprised me with a visit from college. It was only about 2 hours, but it truly delighted my soul to be able to see him again! We've had SO much food, and still have only had to freeze some soup that was brought - everything else we've devoured, and thankfully he was hungry, so Tim and I sat down to a lovely lunch with him, my youngest son, and our 2nd daughter and her fiance'! What a great impromptu visit! I have felt really tired today, so I went on 1 short walk and 1 longer walk and then 1 mid range walk - probably about 1/2 total of what I did yesterday. My stomach has also felt a little tight today - it reminded me of how it felt when I was pregnant. So not terrible, just a little uncomfortable. I went ahead and cleaned my stoma as it was looking pretty mucusy (or whatever this stuff is), and I cut that stent that had pulled out 4 inches to be closer to the length of the other stent. I put several layers of gauze and waterproof pad under my bag as I was doing all of this, and after I put the bag back on and snapped it in place I noticed the front of my underwear was soaked! How in the world did that happen? I had all these layers of protection around the stoma as I was cleaning it - where did I go wrong? The stoma nurse is coming tomorrow, so I'll have to ask about that. I have purposely not gone out in public due to all the sickness flying around, but towards the end of the evening I started having a sore throat. NOOOOOO! Praying tomorrow I will wake up without that!
