Day 30 Post Cystectomy

Today we went to a wedding almost an hour away.  I was very concerned about my stamina, so I prayed about it in my quiet time this morning and felt encouranged after that.  I got a shower and washed my hair and did some straightening up in my bathroom and bedroom, so that felt good.  I'm so slow these days that it took me until about 1pm to get ready, so then I laid down to take a nap.  But Tim was running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get all the boys ready for the wedding.  One didn't have a belt, the other couldn't find shoes, 2 of them needed 1 of their pants legs hemmed.  They all needed their clothes ironed.  I kept offering to help and finally he let me iron his shirt that he was going to wear.  But needless to say, I did not get a nap.  We left around 3pm for the 4pm wedding and we got there with like 10 minutes to spare!  The wedding was outdoors and the weather was beautiful and the ceremony was fairly short - ending around 4:30.  The reception hall on the property said no one was allowed to enter until 5:30, so I went to the car and took about a 45 minute nap!  Woop woop!  When I got up and went into the reception hall, the acoustics were so bad you had to basically yell at the person next to you for them to hear you.  Ugh.  We waited another hour before we could have dinner, and then they did some dancing outside on the patio.  We stayed and watched that for a bit but I was getting tired, so we finally left around 8pm.  All in all, it was an ok experience, but I'm just painfully aware of my limitations.  Normally, I would have been on the dance floor the entire night.  I'm really looking forward to feeling better.  I've been cleaning my stoma about every other day, which seems to be about right.  The stents are still there, so I really wish I knew when they would be falling out.  My stomach is still feeling tight and I'm still having diarrhea.  A friend gave me some more probiotics yesterday that she swears by having experienced a lot of UTIs herself and antibiotic side effects, so I've been taking them but so far they haven't seemed to help.  Only 3 more days of the cipro.  Can't wait to be done with it!
