Our Western Trip up to Texas

6/28/2012

So, this is a story of what’s happening right now. Being out in Texas, for us, is sort of like culture shock. The reason why I say that is because we come from Florida, so we’re not used to all the rules and standards of Texas. For example, I’ve never seen real-life cowboys, but I’m pretty sure in Texas they have them all over. Some of them probably aren’t even modern. And I’ve never seen a real huge herd of cattle that took up, almost, about one hill. I saw like three of them when we went on the interstate from Oklahoma City to Pampa.

The states we’ve been to so far are Florida (duh), Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. It took us about...a week and four days.

We met some of our relatives in Dallas and then we went up to OKC, and now we’re back in Texas, but in Pampa. So, we went from Tampa to Pampa so far. And we’re meeting a friend in Pampa who’s going to move to Florida and be a children’s pastor at our church. Here’s the slogan: he moved from his hometown, Pampa, to Tampa, Tampa to Pampa, and he will go back from Pampa to Tampa. Speaking of people that we know, we might be seeing some up in Oregon.

Well, that’s all for today. Hope you enjoy this blog!

This is what life has been like being in our camper...

Let's review, shall we?  First we were in a home.  Sold it.  Then we got in our camper and went on a trip.  We travelled in sort of like a loop, and went into the central timezone towards the end.  Now we're back.  We've been parked at some friends' house with our camper.  And you're thinking, "Wow, we're done with the review that fast?"  My answer is, "Yes, we are done with the review that fast".  Now, how life has been in the camper - basically there are 2 rooms - a master bedroom and then 1 bedroom that all us kids share.  It's weird to think about us being in a small place instead of a house.  I liked being on the road in this camper, but I'd rather be in a house now.  We've looked at a lot of houses to buy.  Here are a few pictures of them:
You're probably thinking, "Six houses in one day....ouch!"  My favorites were the 1st house, the 4th house, and the last house.  Actually the 3rd was also one of my favorites - it was my Dad's favorite, too, but it seems like it may be knocked out of the grid because of the expense of it.  There's only 1 that has a pool - the 1st one.  So, yeah, these are the 6 houses we were looking at.  Ta-da!

When we were close to finishing little church, God spoke to me. He spoke to me about... Matthew 16:4. I did actually dishonor God about doing my own way instead of God's way.

Nathan and I went to get sticks to put in the fire. Well, we happened to find only 2 sticks. but you know what that means...
STARWARS
We put the tip our lightsabers(sticks)in the fire. We let our sticks burn, and then we fought lightsaber style
We even did a saber lock.
Anyway,we roasted marshmallows and had smores.
Well, I gotta go now.
C-ya,
Nicholas

Miss Tracy:
I think you're talking about the ocean that had waves from hurricane earl and not a pool with a wave maker.
Besides, if it was a pool it would have some salt in it.
 The Talkingtons:
Actually, Savannah is the most haunted city in the United States.
Jonathan Wilbur:
Not really Georgia but Pennselvania. Nathan and I are having fun wacking these spiky plants with our swords (AKA: strong sticks)
Hey, do you have Wii Fit Plus?

The beach there - awesomeness.  The beach has huge waves - they're so huge you can body surf on them, and we even saw people surfing on surfboards!  But I don't understand this.  The conditions were horrible there.  Well, actually I know why.  It was something called Riptides.  It was current that pulled you from the shore out into the ocean like 100 feet.  And you can't go against the current because it's way too strong.  But those waves - they were so fun.  Some were up to like 7 feet and some were only 1 foot high.  Well, there's another thing I experienced - what my dad calls the undertow.  It's the water that pulls you into a wave and it has a pretty strong force - as in May the Force be with you...hahaha!  But we're in Georgia now so I think we should stop worrying about Florida.  We have 14 miles to go to our exit - then we have 7 miles until we make it to our destination.  I think I should get off now because Nathan is wanting me to play spy games with him.  C-ya!

God spoke to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what happened today with me?  I was reading the Bible, and God led me to this verse, which is Ephesians 2:10.  It says, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do."  And then I looked up to Him, and I didn't just pray, I looked straight up, past the roof and all the physical stuff, and then I saw God.  Right there.  So I bowed my head and prayed and asked for another passage.  And then instantly He told me it was Ephesians 3:8-11, which I'm trying to memorize.  It says, "Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me:  to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make plain the administration of this mystery, which for ages was kept hidden in God, who created all things.  His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord."  It said in the Bible, in Eph 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship" which means we are God's creation and created in Christ Jesus to do good works, meaning that we do good works for God.  And also it says, "which God has prepared in advance for us to do" meaning that He made it so that we could do it later.  I thought that was cool that God spoke to me about that.
