Yoyo!!

Yoyo!! :-)  That means 'hello' in another language which we shall not name (particularly because I don't know what is it - typical Nicole).  I'm feeling a bit wacky right now (just ask my brothers and dad...we were playing a card game and I was talking in weird voices, I almost lost in the game because I wasn't paying attention, I was making my brothers laugh because of my weirdness...does that sound wacky to you?) , so I think it's time for Wacky Wednesday Wonders.  Or...Silly Saturday...uh...Wonders?  :-)  OK, I better just post the facts before I say something I'll regret (haha):

1. 863 coaching changes since 1956 in division 1 football (my brothers, grandpa, and dad are watching football on TV, and they had a trivia thingie that I don't understand, but here it is anyway.  I may have typed it wrong.)

2. There are approximately fifty Bibles sold each minute across the world!

3. Every second, Americans collectively eat one hundred pounds of chocolate (hmmm...I think we need to get our priorities straight...that's a lot more chocolate than Bibles!!)

4.  The average ice berg weighs 20,000,000 tons (wow...only our amazing God could do that!).

5.  OK, you probably don't want to hear this, but: the Bible is the most shop-lifted book in the world.

Think about that!  The Bible is the most shop-lifted book in the world.  Why?  Are some people so poor they can't buy the Book that they desperately need?  Do some people just steal them for the fun of it?  What do you think?

It's funny how 1 Corinthians 13 is such a famous chapter in the Bible, but there's two other chapters in the New Testament that are similar and are really good, and are two of my favorites, along with 1 Cor. 13, of course.  Those two chapters are Romans 12 and Colossians 3.  If you go on Biblegateway.com, you can check it out in The Message verson, too.

Today we went to breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa and we met a bunch of their friends there.  They do this every Saturday morning.  The total of people, including us, was 13 people.  Even though you're probably not interested, I had a Hawiian omelett that was SOO good.  It was dee-licious.  Yummy.  Did I mention it was good?

I gotta get to bed now.  We're going to our cousin's youth group again tomorrow morning.  Well, us kids are, my parents are going to the service with my aunt.  I can't wait!  We went last week, and I LOVED it!!  I have to admit, it was a lot better than my youth group at church that I used to go to.  Anyway, that means I have to get to sleep at a decent time tonight, since it's a while over to the church.  Oh, and then that night we're going trick-or-treating with my cousins and aunt.  OK, now I'm really done.  :-)  God  bless!!

The Potter and the Clay

Today my family had the pleasure of going to the Henry Ford Museum with my grandparents.  It was wonderful!!  We had fun exploring all the different exhibits.  Two days ago we all went to Greenfield Village, which was very interesting.  One thing especially captivating there was at the peoples who formed glass - it was absolutely beautiful.  Yesterday the six of us drove over to a college about an hour away to meet a guy there.  We were actually on time (hurrah!), and after we had introduced everyone, he invited us to attend chapel with him, which was just about to start.  We enjoyed the time there, and before we knew it, it was time for lunch.  We had packed sandwiches and everything, but he insisted on treating us to a meal in the cafeteria.  Afterwards the adults stayed there talking while us kids went to a room nearby that had a pool table, a ping-pong table, and several board games.  There was a guy there with his friend playing pool, and he was very nice - he introduced himself and invited Nathan and Nicholas to join their game.

About an hour or two later, we left the college and headed for a 'Hands-on Museum'.  It was AMAZING!!!  We had so much fun there.  There were so many exhibits - a harp with lasers for strings, a thing that tested up to what frequency you could hear, etc., etc., etc.  :-)  The frequency-tester-thingie said that humans could hear up to 20,000...um....Hertz?  I don't remember.  Dad could hear up to approximately 11,000,  Mom could hear up to somewhere around 13,000, Nathan and I could both hear up to about 14,500, and Nicholas and Noah could hear up to around 17,000.  Cool, huh?  Not as cool as something else: it was a big room with a bunch of pretty big, red 'bricks' we could build with.  They were foamlike but a bit sturdier and stronger.  First we built a tower around Nathan, and then he burst out of it.  Next Nathan and I started to build a tower around ourselves, but about halfway through we were trapped inside. :-) Mom and Nicholas helped us finish - when it was completely done it was about 7 or 8 feet tall!!  It even had a ceiling, along with a small window on each of the four sides.  Then Dad helped us make a door on one side for us to squeeze through, so we didn't have to knock down the whole thing.  It was really nice, but about a half an hour later when we came back, someone had completely demolished it.

One more thing (my mom told me I need to make my blogs shorter, so I'm really trying):  when we were at Greenfield Village a few days ago, we watched a potter forming clay on a wheel.  Now, I don't know if any of you have ever seen this before, but it is very fascinating.  You could probably look up a video of it on YouTube.  Anyway, you all have probably read in the Bible the passage about God being the potter, and us being the clay.  I now realize what an impact that must have had on the people listening to Jesus speaking.  When I watched the potter form the clay, I watched how God wants to shape my life and me.  And I think He's already got me a little loosened up.

Jeremiah 18:6  ""O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel."  (If you have the time - and this isn't too long - please click on the link above. God bless.)

Hiya, everyone!  How has your week been so far?  Really, I want to know - tell me in your comment! :-)

We're staying at my mother's sister-in-law's family's vacation lake house.  It's amazing!!  I have my own bedroom, the boys share a room, and Mom and Dad sleep in the RV, which is outside on the driveway.  Yes, you heard me right - I have my OWN bedroom!  Praise the Lord!! :-)  Nicholas and Dad went fishing on the lake in the paddle boats yesterday and today, and today they finally caught some fish - Nick got one and Dad got a bigger one (how appropriate), but they were both too small to keep.

This morning, at precisely 9:00 AM, I took a picture of my room, and then took a picture of the boys' room, while Noah was still snoring.  Do you see a difference in the two rooms?  Anything? :-)
Here are some pictures for y'all - OK, not some pictures, a lot of pictures.  :-)  Sorry if there are too many.  Anyway, did you notice that I didn't post any pictures of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls - just the American.  That's because I didn't go.  Look at my mom's pictures - I'm not in any of them.  I was feeling sick (actually, I was sick, of course, but I was feeling sick enough to stay in the car, lying down and forcing myself to take a bite of my sandwhich while everyone else had lunch at a picnic table outside), and since Mom had to drive back to the RV, I went with her.  She dropped me off, and I just hung out in the nice, warm RV while the others froze their pancakes off outside, enjoying the beautiful view of the breathtaking Canadian Niagara Falls.  Do I regret my choice?  Nope.  Earlier I was cold within 30 seconds of stepping outside, despite having three layers on - shirts, sweatshirt, and heavy jacket.  I was ready to leave Niagara Falls before everyone else, even though it was gorgeous.  I appreciated it, took pictures, and then I was done.  If I hadn't been sick, I would have loved to visit the Canadian side!  But I was afraid it was going to make me feel even worse, standing around the freezing, windy, occasionally wet cold.  So there.  :-)  Right now I am feeling great, especially knowing the fact that we FINALLY got some grammar done today!!!  Hallelujah!!

OK, I don't want to make this too long again - if it isn't already - so I'll go ahead with the pictures.  Hope you enjoy!  God bless!!
