Anyway, you know how I said my mom and I were planning to go to the beach this morning to do our quiet times together? Well, last night we stayed up kinda late, so we decided that we weren't going to wake up early. BUT...this morning I woke up to my mom leaning over me, in her PJs, asking, "Do you wanna go?" After I got over the shock of having been waken up at 6:51 AM by my mom with her bedhead hair, I replied groggily, "Do you want to?" "Yeah," she said quickly, peering at my face expectantly. "OK," I said, still half a sleep. So we jumped into our clothes, grabbed our Bibles, ran out the door, hopped into the car, and hastily drove off - all without waking anyone. Apparently, God really wanted us to go to the beach to do our quiet times - He woke Mom up at 6:51 in the morning! :)
By the time we got to the beach the sun was just over the horizon, a small pink circle, among a handful of glowing clouds and a purplish-pink and blue sky. It was beautiful, to say the least. The sand was soft and the waves were crashing in the distance and softly lapping at the shore. The smell of salt water filled the air, and Mom and I were awed by it all. And to think, God made all of this with a flick of His wrist and a couple of words. With only that, He knew that the moon would affect the tides and that the sky would turn different, gorgeous colors as the sun rose - He knew that Jodie Gregory and her daughter would be enjoying the beauty of His creations at a little after 7:00 AM on Friday, the 3rd of September, 2010. What a great God we have! Why do we ever doubt Him?
And as if that wasn't enough, we had a great quiet time! We read the passage together and prayed together; while I was praying I opened my eyes for a second, and a lady waved at me and I smiled back. When we were done with our quiet times and walking up to the car, we said hi to that lady, and found out that she was Christian!! (I'm going to call her Ms. C). We talked with her, told her about our trip, and she asked us to be praying for her church that was struggling financially. My mom said, "We'll pray right here." So right there on the beach, we three made a little prayer circle, clasping each others' hands, and my mom prayed for Ms. C's church. As soon as my mom finished praying, Ms. C started praying for our trip. It was wonderful!!! We felt and still feel so blessed.
Now that is what I call a divine appointment. God bless!
