Nathan and I made a salad for dinner, and Tim did the rest. He made cheese eggs (a Saturday night tradition) but also used the grill here at our campsite and made salmon over it! Yummy! We tossed in some leftover couscous from a previous meal, heated some frozen corn, and we had quite the scrumptious dinner outside our camper on the picnic table. Then it was time for s'mores - oh my! You'll see pictures of that below! It was getting close to 8pm by the time we were done, and we wanted to see if we could find another herd of elk for the kids to see, so we hurriedly tossed everything into the camper from the picnic table, and drove down the hill to where we saw the elk last night. No luck there, so we drove on into Rocky Mountain National Park, and not a mile into it we saw a black bear making his way alongside the very mountain we had climbed yesterday! It was too far away to get any good pictures of him, but he wasn't too far away at all for us to see him plainly - very cool! We snaked our way back into Estes Park with only a few deer sightings (no elk), and came back home to clean up from the hurried departure.
One of the books I got today was an all time favorite of mine called The Robe by Lloyd C. Douglas. I remember reading it one summer when I was home from college, having checked it out from our local library. I had been thinking about that book over the past couple of days, and had just told Nicole I thought she would like to read it when we got home and she could check it out from our local library. So now, she won't have to wait for that, but she'll just have to wait for me to finish it because I started reading it again! No matter, she has plenty of other books now to keep her occupied. The most sought after book by the triplets that we brought home was '90 Minutes in Heaven' by Don Piper. I had actually gotten that for me because a friend of mine had recommended it to me years ago and I had never taken the time to get it to read it. Well, Nathan read it, and then Noah, and Nicole would have finished it if we had let her but it was bed time so she'll have to wait until tomorrow. It's over 200 pages, too! I love having voracious readers!
As a result of our uneventful day, I don't have many pictures. Pictures of people reading aren't typically the most exciting in the world, so none were taken of that. We did snap a few at dinnertime, especially of the s'mores! Enjoy! Tomorrow we go to Denver - probably our shortest trip to date! Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
