A not so great day....

The morning started out quite lovely.  We all slept in and had a late breakfast.  We then did various things to get ready to pull out (laundry, making beds, cleaning up, etc.) and then Tim mentioned that he noticed a problem with the calipers (not sure if I am spelling that right) on the front right side of our car.  He didn't feel comfortable at all driving around with that problem, so he went ahead and took the car in to a local shop (recommended by the RV park owners where they take all their vehicles) and the people were quite friendly and Tim felt were very reasonable.  We also were able to pick up a spare tire for the tow dolly for a good price, but still that all together came to over $300!  So that put about a 4 hour delay in us getting out of there.  We had not needed our MiFi while we were there because the campground had free WiFi, but we started looking around for it, and it was evidently lost.  So that was a bummer.  Then, after the car was fixed, as it was being loaded onto the tow dolly, one of my biggest concerns came true - the front end which has very little clearance, got banged up a bit.  Argh.  The last time that happened on our last trip it cost us like $800 to fix it!!  Then about a couple hours later, I started looking for my phone and we still can't find it!  We're concerned that it maybe got thrown out with a bunch of papers we threw away at a rest area in Mississippi.  We did have a couple of bright spots.  The weather was absolutely beautiful all day.  And we were able to get gas for only $3.03 a gallon!!  That was amazing!  All in all, another lesson in not allowing our joy to be wrapped up in things and circumstances, because things are temporary and circumstances will always change.  Only the joy of the Lord is our strength!  So, while today was not one of my favorites, I still have much to be thankful for, including learning the lesson of giving thanks in all circumstances!  Oh, and Tim just found our MiFi - another thing to be thankful for!  I hope everyone has had either a great day OR a day to give thanks for!  Blessings!

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
