Tim and I had the privilege of attending another church's married Sunday School class this morning where God is working among them on developing authentic relationships and healing hurts. We have been invited to lead a retreat with couples from this class later this month, and we are so looking forward to connecting with them and joining what God is already doing in their midst. We went from there to our church, where our new Spanish pastor spoke at the service and shared a story that sounded VERY familiar to ours. He and his wife were very settled in their home town with his large family as a support system and him being a pastor at his church he grew up in - very comfortable. About a year and a half ago both he and his wife became very unsettled as they studied God's word, and sensed He was calling them out, but they didn't know why or where. They believed they were to come here to Florida, but that was all they knew. Long story short, there were a series of events that could have only been orchestrated by God that led him to where he is today. It was so great to hear his encouragement from Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." How we all want to know the path first, he said, and then we say we will trust in Him. But the trust comes first. We are continuing to trust Him for provision and direction in our own lives, even if it means fighting ants and ladybugs while we wait on Him.
We have little ants EVERYWHERE!! Argh!! I went and got some organic spray from Home Depot and then some ant houses or whatever you call them, where the ants supposedly come in to the little house, get the stuff all over themselves, and take the stuff back to kill their whole family. Putting it that way makes me almost feel sorry for the little buggers, but fighting with ants all day has put a damper on any compassion I could have conjured up for the miniature intruders. Our host family sprayed around our camper, too, so if we don't asphyxiate from our spray, their spray, and the ant houses, hopefully we'll wake up antless or largely antless (as I kill an ant crawling across my computer screen). Nicole will be blissfully untouched as she has earned a spot inside our host family's home to sleep (see her blog for more info). I just hope this ant saga ends quickly. We had a lady bug saga I forgot to blog about when we were camping near Bloomington, IL. I always thought ladybugs were so cute, until that week back in November. Ever since then we STILL find a ladybug at least once a week in our camper (saw one yesterday as a matter of fact), and to put it nicely, they are no longer cute in my book! I'd still take ants or ladybugs over roaches! But I guess if we stay here in Florida long enough we won't be immune to those for very long.

When we lived in our RV we had to deal with carpenter ants - and it was awful! We ended up leaving for several hours and just fumigated the entire RV with the big, bad stuff (Raid fumigator)! We tried to be nice, it didn't work! I hope it all works out for you!

Those plastic ant "houses" almost never work, but if they do for you, great! If not, try TERRO ant traps. They are a clear liquid in a small plastic container. Just one should be enough to clear out your RV. Good Luck!
