![]() So, my friend, Kim Platt, contacted me and asked if I wanted to meet her and her sister at the beach! When I was at lunch with Holly I asked if she wanted to join me, and she said yes!! So we drove down Coquina Beach (had never been there before) for a gorgeous day!!! It was pretty packed for a Friday and considering the times we are in, but it felt SO good to be in the sun and the water! I can't believe I didn't get a picture of our time together, but I did think to snap this 1 picture of Holly and me after we stopped on our way home at an ice cream stand - yummy!!

My friend, Holly, and I met for lunch today, and she suggested we go to where Nicole and Nicholas were working (which is quite the drive for her since lives in Lutz)! How could I say no?! So it was great seeing her and the kids in their work environment! I didn't get a picture of her and me, but I did snap these 2 of the kids:
I have one of the best neighbors! Pam and her husband are friends with the previous owners of our home, and she was the only neighbor who reached out to us and brought us a cake when we moved here 7 years ago this week! She has kept us supplied with a steady stream of goodies when she bakes because she says it is too much for just her and her husband. So sweet (literally!). She and I try to go to lunch at least once a month, but haven't been able to in the past several, so today was a real treat (figuratively and literally as you can see by the picture!). We went to Ulele's in Tampa - love that place! The food was fabulous and the company even better. And the dessert - divine! It felt really great getting with her again finally!!
Nicole and I went down to Port Charlotte again today because not only was my niece, Elizabeth, still there but also her 2 boys and their father, Doug! Nicole and my sister, Christy, shared some pool time with the boys, and Christy took this picture of me and Nicole and Domanick (the oldest), with Vincent (the youngest) in the background giving his dad a back massage - so cute! They are great kids and were a lot of fun to spend time with!
![]() This has truly been the birthday that never ends! Tonight we celebrated Tim's birthday with the kids since we were out of town on his actual birthday and the kids were in all different directions since we came home until tonight! We kicked the night off having steak fajitas - SO good! And then he opened his gifts where Nathan snapped the one and only photo of the evening! And then we watched Spiderman - Into the Spider Verse movie - such a good message in that movie! Overall, I think he had a great evening, and felt loved and celebrated like he deserves! I hadn't seen my sister since her birthday in February and she only lives like an hour and 15 minutes away! Her oldest daughter and her boyfriend are visiting her, so Nicole & I took the drive down there today to hang out with them!! I can't remember the last time I had seen my niece, so I was super happy for this opportunity. She and her boyfriend were still sleeping when we arrived, so my sister, Christy, came out as soon as we pulled in and hopped in my car and took us out to this fantastic restaurant on the water in Punta Gorda! Here are some pictures from our lunch, and then one picture I snapped of all of us just before Nicole and I drove back home. It was a great visit, and I'm just so very thankful for this wonderful day!
![]() One of the final pieces of my recovery from my bladder removal is finding clothes that 'work' and don't highlight my bag, but rather minimize it, AND my desire to have a fanny pack looking thing (called an ostomy bag cover) to go over my bag so I can wear my hip-hugger type pants. Well, the Lord came through on both counts in pretty amazing ways. For the fanny pack thing I was referred by a friend a couple weeks ago to a local seamstress who has done these before. It was a little more expensive than I had wanted to pay, so I wasn't exactly jumping on getting that done. I was just mentioning that I was pursuing getting this ostomy bag cover thing to a friend of mine (didn't mention price or my hesitation about the price - just that I was pursuing it) and she dropped by a check that turns out will cover 2 covers plus the material for them and she had no idea how much they cost!! That was just amazing to me! And then yesterday, we were over at a friend's house and she had gone through her closets and had 2 large bins full of clothes along with a bunch of clothes on hangers that she is going to get rid of but wanted me to see if there were items that I would like to have out of the bunch. I think there were over 100 items of clothing, and I ended up keeping about 20 items!! Here is one of the shirts - love it!! It's SO comfy!! I just feel so incredibly blessed beyond measure! The thing is, when I was finally feeling up to going and shopping for clothes, Covid-19 hit and closed all the stores! Then they have finally been opening, but I didn't even know what I was looking for! This was SO great to have a bunch of clothes to choose from and all I had to do was try them on! Some of these still have tags on them! It is really true, the Lord is able to do immeasurably more than we can even ask or imagine! So VERY grateful!!! Tim has been so funny since Thursday - telling everyone, "It's my birthday!" when actually his birthday was today. But we left on Thursday to fly to Charlotte to spend a long weekend with our dear friends up here because that's what he wanted to do for his birthday, so every day of this trip is evidently his birthday - lol! The airport in St. Pete / Clearwater was a bit different in that we couldn't even sit together when we were waiting to board the plane as you can see in the picture. But we weren't required to wear masks, which was good for me because even though I try (and I did try on the airplane) I immediately start feeling nauseous and have to take the mask off. The flight was super quick - I think it took only like an hour and 15 minutes! We had a nice evening with Scott & Laura and 3 of their kids, Jonathan, Leya, and Joseph, and then the adults sat out by their pool with a full moon - check out the picture I took - beautiful! And then Friday and Saturday (yesterday) was spent helping them around their farm - me helping Laura with stuff around the house and Tim helping Scott with a remodel of a house nearby that they purchased as another AirBnB. They took us out to this great Italian-Greek restaurant last night - forgot to take a picture of that - but I did get a picture of the 4 of us afterwards as we hung out in their AirBnB apartment next to their house that Tim and I are staying in. This morning they greeted us with an amazing spinach quiche Laura made for us - yummy! She stuck some candles in it and we sang Happy Birthday to Tim! Then we went to their creek and had some time with the Lord and some singing time together, and then we loaded up and drove a little over an hour away to Linville Gorge where we met up with their son, Jason, and his new wife, Rachel, and hiked around there for the rest of the afternoon. Check out some of the views - amazing! We ended the day at a restaurant called Famous Louise's Cafe - perfect down home cooking! We go home tomorrow night, but have thoroughly enjoyed our visit with our friends!
Our dear friends of over 20 years, Lee & Marie Perrella, along with Tim and I were tired of not seeing each other and decided to do something about it! So they came over tonight for a 'dining experience'. When the kids were little the Perrella's took care of them for us on many occasions so we could go out on a date or go to an event or whatever. The only thing the kids complained about when the Perrella's came was that they made them stay at the dinner table for the whole time until everyone was done, and they called it a 'dining experience'! We would also make them stay at the dinner table, but evidently their dinners took a bit longer than ours. Well, when Nicole and Nicholas found out the Perrella's were coming over, they actually wanted to join us in our 'dining experience'! How times have changed! So very grateful for this awesome couple!
