My best friend from college, Sheryl, lives in Orlando with her husband, Don, and though we rarely get to see each other, she's one of those friends you can just pick up where you left off! Plus, our husbands get along well, too - it's one of those rare combinations when all 4 people of the 2 couples really like each other! So we decided to be more intentional and actually plan a time to get together with the 4 of us, and today was the day! We were going to go to a tea room in Lake Alfred, but after looking at the prices we opted instead for a place called Cornerstone Grill. So glad we did! The food was really incredible, and of course the fellowship even better! Check out the deserts we ordered - yummy! Afterwards we drifted around an antique shop where Don and Tim (the 2 shoppers more so than Sheryl and me) bought a couple items. We then had to part ways, but I'm hoping we plan this again very soon! Love those 2!
A few weeks ago my friend, Kim, invited me to ride up with her to her Dad's cabin in Ocoee, Tennessee. Why not??!! So we drove up this past Sunday to this gorgeous approx. 3,500 square foot home in the woods! We drove up Sunday, did some hiking on Monday and Tuesday, did some cleaning and relaxing on Wednesday, and drove back yesterday (on Thursday). In the evenings, we did foot soaks while watching chick-flicks! The cell phone coverage there wasn't very good, so we went into town one day to sit at the McDonalds and do some stuff on our computers. It was really a fantastic getaway, and I'm so very grateful to have friends like Kim in my life!
