Happy Birthday to Nathan, Nicole, and Noah!!!! 🎂🎈🎁 We had a lovely day being together and celebrating their lives! We started out with a walk around the lake of a nearby neighborhood, Lake St. Charles, in the afternoon, and then we went to dinner at one of our family's favorite restaurants, The Italian Kitchen, and it ended with gifts and games at home! So grateful to celebrate these 3 awesome young adults! Here's some pics we took:

Nicholas' first job was at The Egg and I with Nicole and Nathan, but when First Watch bought them out he went and found another job at a Pizza place in Valrico. He's only been there about a month, and he sliced his thumb! He's now had his first (and hopefully his last!) workman's comp claim because he needed to go get stitches and a tetanus shot. I went with him to his follow up and took the shot below. I have also taken some cute kitten pictures that I'm including here. Notice the one by the fireplace - 3 of my ultimate favorite things in the world - a fire in the fireplace, a kitten on my lap, and a Hallmark movie on the TV!! Doesn't get any better than this! :-)
Before we even knew I was going to have my bladder removed my brother called our mutual family members asking if they would like to come celebrate Thanksgiving at his and his wife's house near Dallas, Texas. After talking to various members it seemed like doing it earlier was the best for everyone for flights and schedules, so it was decided to have it 3 weeks before Thanksgiving day (so glad especially since my surgery ended up getting scheduled for the week before Thanksgiving!). So this past weekend was the weekend, and we had such a GREAT time!! We were all hoping to see a bunch of other members of the family, but only Tim and I and the kids and my aunt actually came, so I know Dan and I were a little disappointed about that. But we still had a wonderful time! He and his wife, Mercy, made an incredible feast as you can see in the pictures below!! SO yummy! Noah had said he didn't want to go and then the day before we left he changed his mind so he paid the difference in the ticket price and came along with us - so glad he did! Speaking of ticket prices, I had heard that if you go to the airport to purchase tickets for Spirit Airlines flights it is a lot cheaper than doing it online. Sure enough, back in September, Tim and I took a little drive to Tampa International and bought the tickets at the ticket counter for only $75 per person round trip!!! Online they were going to be over $100 per person! Definitely worth the drive! Here are some pictures we took while we were there. Saturday we had taken a walk around Los Colinas with their dog, Killer (as you can see by the picture what ferocious creature she is!), and we walked by the hotel I had stayed at on my very first business trip with IBM back around 1986! So the last picture below is of me standing in front of that hotel. Good memories and we made good memories this weekend!
I'm so blessed to have a neighbor who lives about 5 doors down from us that I just adore! She's a real Southern gal with the fantastic southern accent to boot, and just a lot of fun to be around! She's been such a blessing to us in so many ways - taking care of our cats if we go away, setting us up with a beautiful leather couch from a relative of hers who was giving it away, giving us a smart TV she was going to give away - such a blessing! She and I try to get lunch in together at least once a month, and today was the day! We went to La Creperia Cafe in Ybor City and it was SO delicious! Then we came back so she could visit the kittens for a bit as we are giving her one of them when they are ready to rehome because she and her husband recently lost their beloved Persian to cancer. Here's a picture of our time at lunch and then some kitten pictures!
Last year, for our 30th anniversary, we traveled to beautiful Hawaii - kind of a bucket list thing! Earlier that summer, we had gone on a Winshape Marriage Sailing Adventure in the Bahamas that had actually ended up surprisingly docking at the resort we stayed at on our honeymoon, and included a vowel remewal ceremony on the beach we had honeymooned at - so great! When we got married we couldn't decide if we wanted to go to the mountains or to the beach - so we did both! We left our wedding reception and drove up to Pigeon Forge where we spent the 1st week of our honeymoon, and then we drove back to Tampa and flew to the Bahamas for the 2nd week of our honeymoon. So we decided for our 31st anniversary, since we did the Bahamas thing last year, we would travel back to Pigeon Forge this year. We had the added bonus of our dear friends, Scott & Laura Hoffman joining us, and we had a blast going hiking, eating out, visiting one of their sons and his girlfriend, and eating that amazing asparagus quiche pie that Tim made!! Check out a picture of that below, along with other photos from our fun adventure!!
