OK - onto our small family holiday gathering yesterday! Nicholas helped me make a yummy fruit pizza!! I really enjoyed that time with him, and I think we did pretty good for the first time either of us made anything like that! We were able to keep it as a surprise from the others, so we brought it out together at the end of the meal. The rest of the evening was low and slow as we continue in our quarantine.
Before I talk about our 4th, I need to mention that Covid-19 has struck our house - BOO!! Tim started feeling badly this past Monday night, so just as a precaution I went and slept in Nicole's room. SO glad I did!! He started out with congestion and a fever, so we were just thinking it was a cold. But by Wednesday he was having body aches that he said felt worse than when he fell off a roof and hit a wall back when he was installing solar. And then Friday he felt chest pressure that he said felt like a lava lamp was inside his chest! He called on Thursday to schedule getting tested, and they gave him a date 2 weeks out (the day we're supposed to leave for a vacation in Maine that we've been planning for 6 months!). Ugh! When I saw Noah taking ibuprofen yesterday morning and checked his forehead it finally hit me what we were dealing with and how we needed to respond. I sat down with the other kids that morning so we could process what was happening and what we needed to do, and they all called their workplaces as we settled in to quarantine as a family. I am still staying in Nicole's room and Noah and Tim are quarantined to their rooms. We let Tim out for a brief photo op at dinner time yesterday, but he's been a good boy staying in his room this whole time! One of our friends brought over Zinc and Eucalyptus Oil and Thieves Oil and a diffuser and Protandem for Tim and Oscillococcinum for me today. So sweet! Nathan and Nicole and Nicholas got up at 4 this morning to wait in line at TGH Urgent Care Fasttrack walk-in clinic on Symmes Road to get tested, and when they opened at 8 they were told they were waiting in line for an appointment, so they had to go back. Then when they went back they were told they couldn't be tested because they didn't have symptoms! So frustrating!! They were told there was not going to be a charge for their visit, but I'm suspicious. I would suggest staying away from that place, personally.
