Tim and I celebrated 22 years together yesterday at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry (again, compliments of our MOSI passes) with 4 kids! :-) That place is AMAZING! Unfortunately, Nicole forgot her camera, which we thought would be OK since we had Tim's camera phone, but we just didn't think of taking pictures with it - that's Nicole's job! :-) But let me backtrack. Wednesday we went to Wheaton Bible Church to visit the family pastor there, Rob Rienow. He was very confirming of the things we're doing with our family and helpful in suggesting ways to go forward. He and his wife are also stepping out in faith come the first of the year and he's leaving his job of like 15 years to go full time into speaking and sharing the vision he feel God has given him called Visionary Parenting. He gave us a copy of his book and it is very good! Check it out if you feel so led. Anyway, Thursday was a cleaning day. Showers, laundry, camper, car - EVERYTHING got cleaned! Late in the afternoon we ventured into Joliet and went to the prison (that is now closed as of 2002) that my dad worked at for a number of years (it was the one at the beginning of the movie Blues Brothers and also filmed in scenes of Prison Break I think their 1st season). Anyway, I called my dad while we were there and put him on speaker and he gave us the insider's tour while we were there - it was GREAT! That brings me to yesterday - our anniversary. After the museum we grabbed 2 movies at a redbox on the way home and the kids fixed their own dinner and put on the movies and Tim and I went to a wonderful local restaurant called Truth with a Visa gift card (courtesy of Verizon Wireless rebate!) and had a LOVELY dinner! They treated us like a king and queen when we mentioned it was our anniversary - putting us in a room all to ourselves while they doted on us - it was really fun and the food was amazing! If you're ever in Joliet I would highly recommend that place! This morning, Tim is making pancakes (yummy) and then we're going to hang around the campground and get some stuff done. Tomorrow is a day of rest, and then we leave on Monday. It's been so cold here the past 2 nights they've shut off the water to keep the pipes from freezing. But we've been nice and cozy here in the camper! However, we're still looking forward to starting our descent southward come Monday! Blessings to all!

Tim and Jodie, wow, what an adventure! I think Jana Grayson told us you were doing this, and I just googled you and found your blog! It has been such a long time - your blog entries and pictures bring back great memories. Priscilla and I have 5 kids - you can check out http://www.rebeccajoychinaadoption.blogspot.com for our latest addition last week! You guys are doing something we are going to do in about 10 years when our youngest 2 are about 12-14 years old! - Phil Fretwell

Does the museum still have the place where u go down into this place where u see how coal is drilled out of the rocks? My parents meet & were married on the South side so Chicago holds a special place in my heart. God bless!
