Well, they replaced the high limit switch and guess what? The intermittent problem still showed up. The people at Denver Tire and Auto were REALLY great to work with, though. They didn't charge us for the switch and spent the rest of the day trouble shooting our problem and didn't charge us a penny. The owner, Joe, took our problem personally and made sure we were taken care of. The manager, David, rode with me on the test drive to make sure it was blowing cold. And Kevin, the technician, called all over the place to find the solution. Kevin's theory is that it appears there is an electrical problem behind the dash. He contrived a very easy work around since we really wanted to be on our way and didn't want to wait to have our whole dash taken apart. Basically, we just have to turn our dial to the air conditioning side, unplug this cord which is under the passenger side dash and leave it that way until we want heat. Then, we plug it in, turn our dial to heat, and unplug it, an. So far, his theory seems to be right since we just drove it for 3 hours with no problems at all. But, we didn't make it to our destination because it was just getting too late and Tim was very exhausted. So - we're in another parking lot tonight - good ole' Walmart! If we do more of these, maybe it will help off-set the cost of our problems with our A/C! :-) Our friends gave us permission to post their pictures, so I'm adding a few more below. Hope you enjoy! Below is Tim directing the kids as they were putting up the chicken coop. They all did a great job! Below is the baby's response when he found out we would be hanging around another day. I scream, you scream....you get the idea.
