Port Charlotte and more...

Well, as you may remember, we have been parked in our old neighborhood in our friends' backyard, and I have been working for his business in the mornings as an exchange for rent.  Well, as it has been getting warmer here in Florida we've needed to run our air conditioner more.  Unfortunately, it kept tripping our breaker, so it would only run a little while and then the breaker would trip.  Tim replaced the 20 amp breaker in their house breaker box with a 30 amp, but we still had the problem.  An electrician replaced the plug on the side of the house that we were plugged into, but we still had the problem.  So last Friday I had the bright idea of testing this further at our friends', the Perella's, house.  They have a dedicated 30 amp, so we came over on Saturday and plugged in and voila, no problem at all.  Our breaker hasn't tripped once.  We had already planned on having dinner together with them Saturday night, so we enjoyed what they call a 'dining experience'.  :-)  Then Sunday we went down to Port Charlotte for a lovely visit with my family.  Here are some pictures below:
Tuesday, Nathan and Nicholas did a great job helping Mr. Perrella with his lawn.  Nicholas has become quite the weed wacker, and Nathan cut his teeth on a zero turn radius lawn mower.  He looked like a pro!  I wish I had taken a picture of them.  The lawn looks fabulous!
Well, we are in the home stretch of the school year, and every year the kids have taken SAT's (not the college version) that I have sent into the county to verify we are actually doing school.  When we took off on the road I had no idea what we were going to do about that this year, but now I have another reason to be thankful we are here right now.  Today they are taking day 1 of a 2 day SAT test (they will do day 2 next Thursday),  and I'm looking forward to seeing how they're doing.  A lot of homeschoolers do what they call portfolio reviews, where a certified teacher checks their main work for the year and signs a paper saying they have achieved growth.  I've always wanted to do the standardized test because I want to know which areas they are doing well in and which areas we may want to focus on for improvement for next year.   We need to get going, but I have more to say, so I'll try to do another blog entry tomorrow.  Blessings!

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
