T minus 30 days!

Remember the comment from an earlier post about a frenzy of activity coming in August? It' s here! I ( Tim ) am officially done counseling out of my office. As of Thursday evening I am out of the office space I rent. How would the Wizard of Oz say it? Now we will attempt spectacular feats of stratospheric skill never imagined by mankind- well, at least not this kind of man! Only the space this time is cyberspace!  I will be sitting with a much smaller number of clients by way of Skype.
Flash - Breaking News - it has come to our attention that the Tampa Tribune is desparate for news.  My argument is this:  If you're going to interview someone who is crazy enough to go around the US in an RV news must be slightly slow.  We are actually on the front page.  So, you can check out the link if you've finished your laundry today at www.tampatribune.com.  I'm sure they will be moving us off the front page soon, so we'll update you with the new link when we get it.
Now, back to the real world.  Please continue to pray with us that we will use our month wisely in preparation for our departure.

Hi Gregories! I saw the article in the Trib today, and Eric Ricci also emailed me the online version which refers to "Josie" - LOL (but the print edition spelled it right). Congrats on your very exciting adventure. I went on a similar trip with my Dad and brother when I was 18, and it was a great experience. You guys have always been an inspiration to me, and I'm sure you will have the opportunity to touch many more lives on your trip. I wish you all the best - "Seizure"!

Tim,

Don't know if you remember me, but I sure remember you from your time working with youth and singles at Idlewild. I'm now a pastor in rural north TX, married with 3 kids. I read about your trip online and wanted to extend an invitation, if you're going to be anywhere close, to stop in Nocona TX (about and hour and a half NW of Ft. Worth). My dad owns a fully-furnished 2 bedroom house that is unoccupied most of the time that you guys are welcome to use for a night or two (or more). It would be great to catch up with you. If not, blessings on your journey!

We posted a story about your adventure on our website today. Would you consider allowing us to republish some of your blogs as you tour the country. I think our readers would enjoy keeping up with your adventures.

Tim & Jodie,
I can't recall which son is the 'roadmaster' for documenting the trip here, but it would be really nice if somehow you could put a map on here that could track you and that could be updated and followed, please? That would be awesome!

Found you by 'accident' on TBO.com... while waiting on the phone (50 minutes) I had time to read about your adventure! God is so good! can't wait to read all about the places you get to see! my husband and I took our travel trailer 17,000 miles in 23 states in 4 months back in '03 after he retired from TPD...... mostly out west. Then, in '06 we went northeast to Nova Scotia for 3 months round trip..... I've seen all 50 states! we have an amazing country! Cant' wait to hear what the kids think of the different states as you go along! The desert southwest is totally different from the Pacific Northwest! hope you get to see Glaciar National Park in Montana! it's spectacular! we'll add our prayers to your friends and family for your year! We lived in Citrus Park for almost 20 years, but now we're up here in Spring Hill..... look forward to reading your blog as you go! be blessed! Kathy

Oh yeah.....! You are really living now. You have Jesus, your wife, your children, no mortgage and an RV.
God blesss you Tim and Jodie it warms my heart to see this great adventure developing!

Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
(Jos 1:7-9)

Hi! Good luck to you and your family, I came from the TBO.com article. Did you guys read The 4 Hour Work Week book? I'm reading it right now and this is something that the author would do. Have fun!

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
