The Adventure Begins!!

So, Tim was right and I was wro...., uh, wro...., uh, less right (as Megamind says).  :-)  The RV wasn't available until 2pm yesterday, so there was no way we were loading it and leaving that day.  So we spent the rest of the day loading - I can't believe it takes so long but I was working until 2am this morning!  It was reminscent of when we were leaving 2 years ago, only a LOT less stressful since we are coming back to our house that we are renting and before we had sold our house and had to get everything out!  But get this - we've had our tow dolly at another RV rental place, and we let the guy know a few weeks ago that we would be coming by to pick it up.  So Tim called  and left  him a message on Thursday to let him know we would be picking it up the next day, and he called back and left us a message saying he thought we had already picked it up because it wasn't there!  What????  It must have been stolen!  So now what??  So I got on Craigslist and found one about an hour north of us for $900.  Tim called the guy and he agreed to meet us at an exit right off the interstate today.  When we left this morning I was just praying there was nothing wrong with it.  We pulled into a nice pull through spot thanks to a McDonald's parking lot that caters to truckers, and this tow dolly is pristine!  The guy had it covered and on concrete, and you can tell.  ANYWAY - so we got the car all hooked up and away we went!  We arrived around 5:30pm at our destination in the panhandle to gorgeous weather and beautiful beaches!   Here are some pics of Tim hooking up the car this morning on our new tow dolly:
Oh, before I go any further, I must mention that Nicole got her hair cut!  Here are a couple of pictures of her 2 days ago, and then the rest of the pictures will show her sporting her new cute haircut!  :-)
Since I didn't know exactly which day we were leaving I couldn't make reservations anywhere.  I started calling this morning and every place was booked.  Yikes!  I finally reached a place that is on our list of discounted places, and they had availability!!  We have full hook up only a couple blocks from the Gulf for only $24 a night!  Woohoo!  And the owners are believers and SO incredibly nice!  Tonight we enjoyed a scrumptious ravioli dinner:
And then the triplets and I took a lovely walk on the beach at sunset!
I've had so many amazingly contented moments today - from the kids playing a board game together laughing and cutting up while I was driving to the yummy dinner to walking on the beach - so many great experiences already!  And it's only the first day.  Thank you to all of you who have encouraged us to finally take this 2nd leg of our trip we planned over 2 years ago!  I hope everyone has a very Happy Father's Day tomorrow!

Glad you made it to your campground safely! Nicole texted that you got there almost right after we finished our phone conversation.

Aw, sorry about your tow dolly... At least you were able to get another one quickly.

I'm praying for y'all! Have a great time at the beach! See you on Tuesday!
Sarah

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
