The Dentist

Tim and I went to the Dentist today - yeehaw!  You know, it is just NOT fair that I floss my teeth like every day and he almost never does and he was in and out of there faster than I was with no problems (he just had to get some type of rinse for his mouth) and I, on the other hand, now have to go through a lovely and expensive procedure for a cracked tooth!  We just saw the dentist today, and I'm scheduled for the procedure on Monday morning at 9am but I'm already kind of wigging out about it and will probably call them at 8am and postpone the whole thing.  Evidently, he'll have to remove my filling and then determine if I'll need a root canal and/or a crown.  If it cracks all the way he may need to remove the tooth and then I'd have to get either a bridge (which evidently compromises the teeth on either side) or an implant (which is more expensive but doesn't hurt the surrounding teeth).   Remaining toothless (if it has to be pulled)  is not a good option (believe me, I asked!) because of several reasons that I don't feel like recounting.  I definitely want it fixed as I have been in pain on that side of my mouth for quite a long time (over a year) and have been chewing only on my other side, which is now in pain due to receding gums.  I gotta say, I've taken my teeth WAY for granted for a long time!  I'm hoping if I speak nicely to them every day or something this will be the last episode of this craziness!  :-)  This just reminds me of that verse that talks about the body of Christ metaphorically in the parts of your body from 1 Cor 12:26.  It says:  "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it..."  Ain't that the truth in our physical bodies?!  It seems we are so busy and disjointed from the Body of Christ the truth of that for us as Christians has largely been lost.  That's kind of one of the biggest pieces of what we want to bring to hurting marriages.  Offering community, mourning with those who mourn, bearing each other's burdens and so fulfilling the law of Christ (Gal 6:2).  Now if only someone could bear the burden of my cracked tooth!  :-)
By the way, Nathan asked me to let you know he posted about a weird dream he had so you can check it out.   Maybe we've got some Joseph's out there who can interpret dreams.  I would love to see someone try to decipher this one - he's right - it's weird!  I don't know if I should be sad or glad that Noah and I are not in it!  :-)

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
