We hooked up the car last night, unhooked from everything but electric, pulled in the slides, and went to bed. Tim got up at 6:45, unplugged our electric, and took off with the rest of us in bed! I actually got up pretty quickly and enjoyed the ride with him. The kids took a little bit longer to get up, and then had the bright idea of making the dinetted into the bed it can make and pulling out the jack-knife couch into its bed and making one huge bed. They removed one of the cushions and used the flat part of the dinnette to play games. Anyway, we went across the continental divide, which Nathan informed me delineates between water that flows to the Pacific Ocean (west of the divide) and water that flows to the Gulf, the Great Lakes, and the Atlanta (to the east of the divide). I never knew that! We also entered Arizona and gained another hour! Here are a couple of pictures from those milestones. We made it to our campsite close to the Grand Canyon, and the first thing we noticed was how much cooler it was. It was only 80 degrees!! We hooked up everything and then took a break - Tim napped while I took a shower and the kids played games. We finally had dinner and then we were ready to go! We got our Annual Park Pass and then off to the park we went. Shortly into the park we came upon these deer things, so we snapped some pictures of them. And then, I can't even describe the feelings I had as I walked to one of the South Rim lookout points with Nicole (the boys had run ahead), but I just had tears in my eyes as the expanse of the Canyon came into view and I was glancing at her from the corner of my eyes. It truly is breath taking! I was struck again with how incredibly creative and beautiful God is! The Bible says the earth is His handiwork, and my what incredible handiwork he created here! We have SO many pictures I don't know how to narrow it down! But I will try. Hope you enjoy. If you want to enlarge any of these, simply click on them.
