"Travel Day" to Denver

I put "Travel Day" in quotes because how close Denver is to Estes Park, but temperature wise, they seem worlds apart!  We started out this morning in the 40's and needing to run the heater!  By the time we got to our new campsite near Denver it was close to 100 degrees!
Anyway, this morning was shower day, so all 6 of us took showers.  We used our RV shower because the showers at our campground were $2 for 6 minutes and 25 cents every 30 seconds after that!  No thanks!  We had full hook up, so one by one we filed in and out of the shower.  It took a couple of hours.  :-)  We managed to eat breakfast somewhere in there, and then Tim and Nicholas hooked up the car while I helped ready the inside.  Poor Nathan started having the sniffles yesterday, and today he is definitely under the weather, so he was unavailable to be the helper he normally is.  We thought we would be out of there by 10:30 or 11:00 at the latest, and somehow we managed to stretch it to around 11:30 I think.  We had found one of those do-it-yourself spray car washes we could fit our RV into with our car in tow, so we stopped there and Tim gave this thing, along with the bikes that were still covered in dust from our forray down the dusty gravel road in Wyoming, a much needed bath.  So we were ALL clean - even our RV!  :-)

We then ventured to our friends' house that was on the way to our campground in the Denver area.  We had met Phil on a missions trip we went to in Africa probably almost 20 years ago!  We met his lovely wife, Nancy, when we lived here in the Denver area when Tim was getting his Master's degree from CCU back in 1996-97.  They are 2 people with whom we both click with so much, which I find can be rare when you get 2 couples together.  Plus we respect them a great deal - Phil began a ministry of teaching and equipping ministry leaders across the world years ago, and it is still a very healthy ministry that is going strong and growing strong!  Nancy teaches 4th grade at a school in a very economically and socially depressed area, and she just beams talking about reaching these disadvantaged children.  Can you tell I just LOVE them?  They invited us to a scrumptious lunch and then we had what seemed like a short time to visit while the kids watched the Olympics, and then we needed to move on to get to our campsite and set up.  Thankfully, Nicole and Phil took a few pictures (which Phil emailed to me the ones he took), so I have a couple photos to share.
Other than that, we got set up at our new RV park, did a few things around the RV, got ready for dinner, had dinner, did blessings (where we take each kid and tell them some attribute(s) about them that we are proud of and encourage them to understand they are here for a reason, and how much we love them), and now it is bed time.  We are looking forward to connecting with others we know here this week, as well as visiting some of our old stomping grounds from when we lived here.  Hope everyone had a great weekend!

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
