Finally, we were on our way, and the drive was through, once again, absolutely beautiful countryside. We even saw some more snow capped mountains that I snapped a picture of. We also saw a wolf (or was it a cayote? I don't remember what the consensus was and everyone is asleep!). Either way, it was very cool to see him running, moving much faster than that buffalo we saw last night, so we couldn't get a picture of him. Bummer. We got gas for $3.39/gal (which is way better than the $3.99 we paid in California!), so we were glad for that. Dinner was ravioli for the kids and salmon for Tim and me, and then Nicole had a great idea of watermelon. She and Nathan walked in to the Walmart and got it for us, and I cut it up. We were eating it outside when one of our neighbors (there are several RVs here tonight) came out of his camper, so we offered him some since leftover watermelon would be pretty hard to store in our small refrigerator! He went and got his wife, and we had a really nice conversation right here in the Walmart parking lot, eating watermelon. That was fun! But now it is bedtime, so I'm going to post some pictures here and then hit the hay myself. We will be staying inside Yellowstone starting tomorrow until Monday, and so far our experience with all the national parks is that there is pretty much no cell phone or internet reception anywhere in the parks, so don't be surprised if you don't see any updates here until Monday night or Tuesday morning!
The pictures below are 1) Tim and me at our breakfast date 2) Nathan standing by these huge tires at the place we picked up our spare tire (he thought they were so cool!) 3) snow capped mountains 4) watermelon - yummy 5) me blogging 6) Nicole's curly hair.
