This happened during my last post but I didn't feel like talking about it yet, but now I will. So, remember we had a blow out on the left side of our tow dolly? You know, we probably should have thought - both wheels were sitting in our back yard for the same amount of time. So, maybe if we had a blow out on one we might want to consider the strong possibility of having a blow out on the other. I think you can see where this is going. We were about 45 minutes away from leaving our friends' house yesterday and a guys pulls next to us on the highway and tells us we have a flat tire. We looked back, and there was the other fender gone and basically nothing left of the tire. We heard a big boom on the first blow out, but on this one we didn't hear a thing. It somehow even put a dent on the back right side of our camper - how did we not hear it? But there were 2 silver linings. 1) We were able to pull off on a straight away just BEFORE a curve and 2) North Carolina has this great system called IMAP (Incident Management Assistance Patrols) and one just happened to come upon us shortly after we pulled over. The guy was AWESOME! He pulled his vehicle at a diagonal way behind us and put on his flashing lights and had some great tools to help Tim change the tire much easier. Just his vehicle being there was a great relief to Tim, who had responded to enough accidents/deaths in situations like these when he was a firefighter to make him quite nervous in this situation. Shortly after that, I got us lost looking for gas. Another silver lining was that we ended up stumbling upon a Super Walmart with a Murhpy where gas was only $2.51 with our card (it was in the upper $2.50's and $2.60's everywhere else!). So we made the most of it, went inside and bought 3 DiGiorno's pizza's, got out our pizza oven and cooked them right there in parking lot. :-) All the delays put us at our campsite at midnight, but it was a pull through site, thank you Lord! So we pulled in, went to bed, slept in, had our quiet times, and are ready for the day!

In spite of it all, it looks and sounds like you're havin' a crazy good time!

My dad taught me (years ago after I made a similar mistake) to always buy tires in pairs (and for your car, all four unless you know the non-problem pair are significantly younger than the problem pair). It can be a hassle sometimes and expensive, but he's right. Of course, Dads usually are :D
