We were on the news today....

One of the local news stations that did a story on our trip almost 2 years ago called us and asked if they could do a follow up story.  The reporter was so awesome - it was a lot of fun reliving the memories.  Unfortunately, we were only able to record the segment by using Nicole's camera to video the TV while the story played, and both the sound quality and the picture quality aren't very good.  I may try to upload it to our website and see if it is understandable.  If so, I'll post the link to it on here.  In the meantime, you can see a synopsis of the story here:

Back in January, a brother & sister who are good friends with Nathan & Nicole invited them to go with them to LEGOLAND.  Well, Noah & Nicholas just love lego's and after we joined the local homeschool group so that Nathan & Nicholas could play on their basketball teams we were able to sign up for the homeschool field trip to LEGOLAND at a ridiculously reduced price!  So today was the field trip, and it was a gorgeous day!  Nathan & Nicole stayed home, and I think they felt very grown up to be home for so long by themselves - the longest time they've done that yet for sure.  The reporter tweeted Noah while we were at LEGOLAND to let him know that our story was going to run at 5:23pm today.  We walked into our house at 5:23pm from LEGOLAND just in time to see the story!  How cool is that?  Well, that's it for now.  I hope to be updating this with a video link soon!  Blessings to all!

I am planning to retire this summer, pull our 5th wheel to BrysonCity, NC and then head west. I don't know the best route to take to avoid the steep grades and high mountains. Do you have a route mapped out?

You guy lived our dream! We have been wanting to hit the road for a while now and take our seven year old daughter all around the country. We also homeschool and we think it would be a great way to show her our wonderful country and for her to learn at the same time.

I look forward to reading your blogs!! God Bless.

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
