Wigging Out

You know, we Christians are NOT supposed to worry, right?  So we typically say, "I'm not worried, I'm just concerned.  It's not the same thing".  Well, I'm not worried or concerned - I'M WIGGING OUT!  Hmm - I think that's more along the lines of the worried category, isn't it?  Bummer.  It's just that I spent ALL day running errands (dentist up in Wesley Chapel because we couldn't get into the nearer office for Nathan's follow-up filling after his root canal last week, picking our car up from the shop, going to the library, Tim going to a dr. appt in Tampa and the downtown library....) and I spent NO time actually getting ready for our move.  The house is a WRECK!  Boxes are everywhere.  We can't find anything.  I feel like Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh's Hundred Acre Woods Party (one of the best 15 minute videos EVER!) when he was running around like a chicken with his head cut off thinking about all the things he needed to do  for the party he was throwing until he stopped and said, "Ive got to make a SCHEDULE!".   Only he soon found that he was allowing the schedule to rule him.  OK, maybe that doesn't relate to me, because right now I don't have a schedule or a party, but the running around like a chicken with my head coming off is a pretty good match there!  Please pray we get organized - is that possible when you move?  I don't know - I think I've only moved twice in my adult life before this, and I don't remember it being this crazy (even counting my last move to this address when I was pregnant with triplets and went on bedrest the day after we moved in).   So more than organization I think I just need the peace that passes understanding to guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus.  Yea, that's the ticket.  Pray for that, OK?

Hi! You don't know me; I've been following your site since it was featured on one of the web news sites (possibly CNN, but I honestly can't remember). Your adventure sounds like it's going to be a hoot, so I bookmarked your blog and have been reading along.

I just wanted to give you a little bit of advice. Sit. Close your eyes (okay, peek a bit, or it's going to be hard to read the rest of my advice ;). Breathe. Twice. Slowly. One more time. With me?

God has moved you and your husband to do this, which means everything is going to work out. Right now you're in the thick of it, so obviously it seems pretty chaotic.

But God wouldn't lead you to here and just leave you hanging. You can't see the organization from where you're standing. And it's okay. Just do the next thing. Whatever that is. (and it really doesn't matter WHAT it is).. Just do it. Each little thing you do, will get you where you're going. You can't make a wrong move.

You and your family are in my prayers and I look forward to reading about your travels. Best to all of you!

I read the post and I know exactly what the problem is. I have the answer that will fix everything. Have no fear the solution is at hand.

Stop going to the library!

P.S. just think when you hit the road you will not need a schedule if you are carful to guard against the temptation to create one even so.

    Tim & Jodie

Tim and Jodie have been married since Nov. 5, 1988.  Tim is a retired Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and retired city of Tampa Firefighter.   Jodie is a happily laid off IBM/AT&T 21 yr veteran employee. So I guess you can say they're both retired, but still super busy!  They have four wonderful children:  triplets Nathan, Nicole, and   Noah born 11/16/97 and Nicholas born 5/16/99.  Nathan is at Trinity College, Noah is at Florida Polytechnic University, and Nicole is at USF.  Nicholas is an EDM (electronic dance music) creator and hoping to make a living from that!  We love and are so proud of our kids!
