We were so privileged to be able to serve as a Host Couple at one of Winshape's signature series marriage retreats again this past weekend. They gave us so much free time on Saturday we were able to go to the House of Dreams that I have heard so much about and always wanted to go to but never seemed to have the time when we were there. We started out the day saying hello to the statue of Truett Cathy (Chick-fil-a's founder) and taking some pictures with him. After the morning session we were all given a picnic bag for lunch with sandwiches and chips and fruit and cookies and conversation starters - even a picnic tablecloth! We then went on that hike, and what a gorgeous day for a hike it was! I think it took us about an hour and a half to get to the top, and it was so worth it! When we got back to our room I took some pictures of that (I think it's the nicest room we've ever had there!), and my final picture is of us with our friends, the Kerr's. They live near Macon, so we drove to their place after the marriage retreat and spent the night there last night. They are a very dear couple who served with us in re|engage (the marriage ministry we lead at our church) before they moved. It was really great reconnecting with them! Just a little side note and really kind of TMI, but I just have to note that since we did drive up and back I decided to test out connecting a leg bag to my urostomy bag. Well, that turned out to be THE BOMB! I used to be the one we always had to stop for, but this time it was Tim looking for the rest areas. I would just say, "oh, I'm sorry honey, you have to go pee pee? Pour thing"! Lol!
